Designing for another design company required the workplace itself to demonstrate clarity, quality and innovation. The team needed open communication across desks, places for concentration, flexible meeting areas, a specialist workshop and a social space capable of hosting events and exhibitions — all without sacrificing comfort or individual working preferences.

The existing factory shell provides the foundation, with high ceilings, abundant daylight and raw elements retained as part of the interior. Open workstations support easy exchange, while focus areas and flexible meeting zones provide quieter alternatives. A central social kitchen gives staff somewhere to step away from their desks and can be reconfigured for events and exhibitions. The custom workshop integrates specialist cabinetry for equipment and tooling. Because furniture is the element employees interact with most, the specification prioritises ergonomics and adaptability: full-size height-adjustable desks include personal storage and lighting, large pinboards support developing ideas, and movable furniture allows teams and breakout areas to change with each project.
The finished office works as both a practical studio and an expression of Phoenix Design’s values. Industrial character and carefully resolved furniture sit together in a bright, flexible environment that supports individual focus, collective creativity and everyday wellbeing.
