VERIE, a day-to-day Bakehouse on the first floor coexists alongside TING, a Chefs Table dining area above; featuring pastry-inspired cuisine. For the Bakehouse interior, we took inspiration from the client’s vision and the acronym behind their brand, Viennoiserie, Effortless, Refined, Inspiring, Everyday. The Bakehouse interior embodies a refined yet everyday aesthetic. The design features a colour and material palette inspired by the warm, creamy textures of bread and pastry.

Both venues needed their own identity while still reading as one project. The layout also had to resolve practical constraints including Feng Shui, plumbing, the existing structural stair, product display, a feature cake room, seating capacity and flexible private events. The transition between floors became as important as either room itself.
The two levels work as contrasting chapters of the same story. VERIE is light, tactile and approachable; TING is darker, quieter and more theatrical. The journey between them gives the project its identity, allowing two different dining formats to coexist without losing a sense of connection.
VERIE takes its cues from the brand idea of Viennoiserie, Effortless, Refined, Inspiring, Everyday. Pebble dash, travertine, timber and custom white-chocolate-drop pendants create a warm, understated palette inspired by bread and pastry. Subtle curves in the counters, mirrors and wall lights pick up the graphic language of the brand. A hidden door, marked by a custom chocolate-block handle, leads to TING. Dark-tinted mirrors and dramatic lighting transform the stair into a moment of anticipation before guests arrive at the central chef’s table and open kitchen. TING uses a restrained mix of matte and glossy chocolate-toned materials so the food remains the focus, while a lighter lounge along the tree-lined façade provides flexibility for events and private dining.
