The client wanted a modern office that gave particular attention to staff comfort and wellbeing. Air quality, temperature, natural light, acoustics, greenery and ergonomics all needed to be considered alongside open communication between teams. The reception area also had to transform for larger gatherings without feeling like a conventional corporate lobby.

Timber finishes, woven textures and soft canopy greens reference New Zealand landscapes and bring warmth to the workplace. Zespri’s brighter brand colours are woven through fabrics and materials rather than applied as isolated graphics. The main arrival space looks across a 180-degree city view and is planned as a multipurpose setting that can open for company events. Meeting rooms use stronger moments of brand colour, while the principal work areas remain calm in white, soft grey and fresh green. Planting, acoustic treatments and ergonomic considerations are integrated throughout to support comfort and create a healthier daily environment.
The completed office feels recognisably Zespri without relying on overt branding. Natural references and fresh colour give the workplace warmth and identity, while flexible shared areas and carefully considered environmental conditions support both staff wellbeing and the company’s expanding China operation.
