ORAVIDA NEW ZEALAND PAVILION
Shanghai National Exhibition Centre, Shanghai, 330sqm
The Oravida New Zealand Pavilion was launched at CIIE 2018 at the China National Exhibition and Convention center in Shanghai. The space has become a permanent showcase for New Zealand's premium food brands. With an influx of Chinese importers coming through each week the showcase is an opportunity to present New Zealand products to an active market of engaged import/exporters.
The space combines both chilled and ambient display types. Natural oak plinths and slim-lined steel displays form the center units, with built-in black wood shelving and fridges forming the outer walls. Integrated planting softens the classic black and white kiwi feel. The black and wood flooring pattern creates an axis and pathway through the displays encouraging uses to wind their way through to discover each product.
The design required flexible modular units which could be put together to create various product display sizes, each containing cleverly concealed storage and integrated signage boxes. A commercial kitchen supports the sleek demonstration kitchen for hosting product launches and cooking demonstrations, as well as three private meetings rooms for wholesalers to hold clients meetings. Large integrated LED screens rotate through New Zealand Story content designed to tell individual stories of New Zealand's food and beverage exporters.
