The extremely limited footprint needed to carry a recognisable identity while remaining practical for fast service. Every material and detail therefore had to contribute without crowding the room.

Rustic timber crates, marble tile and brick walls translate Gemma's warmer Italian character into the much smaller café. The restrained set of materials gives the compact interior depth and familiarity while leaving the operation clear and efficient.
Despite its size, Piccolo feels deliberate rather than temporary. The connection to Gemma gives the café an established personality, while its compressed format suits quick, everyday use on Anfu Road.
